Best Bali Yoga Retreat from Los Angeles

Bali Yoga Retreat: A Verified Ubud Pick for LA Yogis

Rice terraces, twice-daily practice, and one full day of silence.

6 nights / 7 days Oneworld Retreats

Bali is a long way from Los Angeles, and it is worth knowing exactly how long before you book. There are no nonstop flights between LAX and Denpasar (DPS). According to FlightConnections, connecting itineraries run between 18 hours 44 minutes and 26 hours 15 minutes of travel time depending on where you stop, with the quickest routings going through Manila, Tokyo, or Taipei.

That travel commitment is why most LA yogis who make the trip book a full week rather than a long weekend. The retreat we recommend, Oneworld Retreats in Ubud, has been running programs in Bali since 2003 and publishes real dates, real prices, and a real day-by-day schedule, which is rarer than it should be in this category.

For the November 29 to December 5, 2026 edition of its Escape the World retreat, Oneworld publishes a standard rate of IDR 31,000,000 (roughly USD 1,835) for double occupancy and IDR 38,750,000 (roughly USD 2,293) for single occupancy, with a lower early-bird rate for bookings made by June 30. Prices come from the operator's own retreat page and are subject to change, so confirm directly before booking. MyLAyoga does not run this retreat and takes no booking or commission for it.

What this Bali yoga retreat actually includes

Twice-daily practice

The published program includes five morning meditation and yoga sessions plus five evening restorative yoga sessions across the week, so practice bookends each day rather than filling it.

A full day of silence

Day three is a silent day. An independent review of the program by Fathom describes guests abstaining from speaking, eye contact, reading, and music for a 24-hour stretch, with materials provided for written reflection.

Tirta Empul purification ritual

The retreat includes a water purification ritual at Tirta Empul, one of Bali's active Hindu temples, rather than a staged resort version of one.

Sunrise yoga at Mount Batur

One morning is built around a sunrise session at Mount Batur, Bali's active volcano in the island's northeast highlands.

Spa treatments built into the price

Three treatments are included in the published rate: a massage, a facial, and a hair cream bath. They are part of the program, not an upsell.

Meals included, mostly

The published inclusions list six breakfasts, five lunches, and six dinners, which leaves a small amount of room to eat in Ubud on your own.

Balinese cooking class and offering class

The week includes a Balinese cooking class and an offering class, plus a rice field walk, so the cultural component is hands-on rather than observational.

Airport transfers from DPS

Round-trip airport transfers are included. Useful after a 20-plus hour trip from LAX, since the property sits well outside Denpasar.

A private villa, not a hotel block

The 2026 edition is hosted at Villa Taman Surga, a private Balinese and Javanese joglo villa roughly 2 km from central Ubud, with a yoga space, pool, and shared dining.

Long track record in Ubud

Oneworld Retreats has operated in Ubud since 2003 and has been independently reviewed on TripAdvisor and by travel outlets including Fathom and The Honeycombers.
