Where the money can come from.
One rule, and it fits in a sentence: gear pages may carry affiliate links, and nothing else on this site does.

As of today: no affiliate links are live
This policy is published before the links exist rather than after. When gear pages start carrying them, this page will already have said so — and the pages themselves will say so at the top, where you see it before you read the recommendation, not in a footnote underneath it.
The cluster rule
Affiliate links are confined to the gear cluster — mat care, a mat buyer's guide, the equipment checklist. That is the entire commercial surface.
Which means these carry no affiliate links, ever:
- The pose library and the 3D models
- Therapy and any health-related guide
- Studio listings, neighbourhood and style pages
- Retreats
The reason is deliberate. Pages about your body and your injuries should not have a financial stake in what you conclude.
What an affiliate link is
A link to a retailer that pays us a small commission if you buy through it.
It never changes your price. Every such link is marked
rel="sponsored" in the page's code, which is how search engines are told the
same thing you are.
How products get recommended
On merit. We are not paid for placement, we don't accept payment for a favourable review, and a commission does not buy a spot on a list. Where a cheaper option is the better one, that is what the page says.
If we have not used something, the page says so rather than implying otherwise.
Studio listings are free
No studio pays to be listed and no studio pays for its position. Listings are editorial and community-maintained. If that ever changes — a paid feature tier, say — paid placement will be labelled as such wherever it appears.
Advertising
Ad slots on this site currently show our own house promotions. There is no advertising network, which is also why there are no advertising cookies — see the privacy policy.
Retreat deposits
Retreat deposits are a direct commercial relationship, not an affiliate one. The terms of use set out who you are contracting with.
Questions
If a link's status is ever unclear on a page, ask us and we will make it clearer.
